Just 3 moths last night here in rural Cambs by midnight, so I decided to switch off.
One each of Lunar Underwing, White-point and the strangest out of season moth, a Shears!
Well I never saw that coming. My previous latest was from the first week of August! over 2 months earlier!
There is mention in literature of a partial second brood in the south in August/September.
The latest Cambridgeshire record I can see on the database was an individual trapped on the 31st of August in 2013.
So the latest record by 38 days!
It just shows you that it's always worth running your trap.
