Latest from the garden trap

A couple of more moths have been recorded this week, just two moths mind, but thankfully both were new for the year.

A single Dark Chestnut on a wet Thursday night was all I could muster. The weather got so bad at 10pm that I had to shut it down.

Last night again I tried but it was rather chilly, and by 11pm it was far too cold. Luckily an Angle Shades was spotted on the wall behind the trap, my earliest record of this species.

The trap is now away for a bit as the weather deteriorates.
