Still mild but rather slow

The Orthosia species seem to have dropped in numbers lately, maybe the peak for them is now over? Coupled with a bright full moon in recent nights, that could be the main reason for the lull.

Last night I ran the trap again for just 6 moths, fairly uninspiring but at least it includerd two new for the year species and one of them being my earliest ever Garden Carpet.
It appears that my record, although early, isn't that abnormal and there are January records for a lot of counties, crikey!
Drizzly tonight and a bit of a cool breeze, lets see what turns up.
